Situation

During the period of growing popularity of Chinese cars in Russia, the largest car-sharing service received a request to arrange the supply of 1000+ Chinese Jetta VS5 cars, for which 6 full trains and 330 containers were involved

Problems

The high cost of logistics due to the specifics of the cargo; it was necessary to reduce costs at all stages of transportation
The period of peak import of Chinese cars to the Russian Federation and the absence of car carriers on the market
Risks of cargo damage during transportation due to the difficulties of loading / unloading and the specifics of transporting vehicles in containers

Solution

A scheme has been developed for loading /unloading and securing vehicles in two rows inside the container using specially welded supports and ramps for unloading
The departure from the arrival terminal was carried out within a maximum of 48 hours without incurring additional storage costs
Delivery of cars to the customer by car carriers, including the use of manipulators for some cars
Cargo insurance; organization of round-the-clock inspection during unloading at the expense of the forwarder
